Women’s Club News

Our summer got off to a great start. We enjoyed getting together at our first meeting, catching up, just socializing, and making our own creations at our Ice Cream Bar. Thanks to our great Hostess Committee, Diane Zukowski and Betty Barrett, for gathering all of the fun ingredients.

Our program on July 15 will feature Heather Thibeault. Heather is a DIY modern day homesteader who teaches about sustainable living. She is a licensed cosmetologist and hairdresser who several years ago found herself facing an autoimmune disease that makes her particularly sensitive to heavy metals in the environment. After several years of research, she has found ways to create household products that do not use any chemicals. At our meeting she will discuss “If you can’t eat it, don’t put it on your skin!” It may sound impossible for beauty products to be edible AND effective at the same time, but if you make them yourself, it is possible. Learn some basics of making your own skin care products, discuss natural ingredients, and make-and-take your own lip balm. Please join us on Tuesday night at the Clubhouse at 7 p.m. New members and guests are welcome.
