BPBC Recreation Programs News

We are looking forward to an action packed Summer.  We are very sad to let you know that Garrett has resigned the lead position in the Recreation Program.  We will truly miss his leadership, action packed activities and wonderful presence in the Club Program.  He gave so much time and energy and had many accomplishments over the years.  We are very fortunate to have had him at the helm for so many years.  He has had such a great influence on our children.

There are a few new offerings in the Club Program this year.  We will be hiring two Co-Directors and there will be two WSI Swimming Instructors this year.  Our Annual Theme will be Exploring the Niantic Bay.  We will learn about the History of the Point, The Nehantic Indians, and the significance of Wigwam Rock.  We will also get involved in preserving the Bay.  We will also have weekly themes time traveling through the decades.  We will start with the 1770’s in time for the celebration of our Independence.  Then we will time travels through the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s.  Our last week will be a celebration of the future.

We invite the entire community to get involved and get to know each other a little better.  We will be offering a Family Pot Luck Dinner Night; Bingo Nights, a Luau, Adult Trivia Nights, a Movie Night and a Family Carnival.

We are looking for volunteers to offer some extra-curricular activities such as introductions to Bocce, Shuffle Board, Ceramics, Painting and Entomology, Collecting and other hobbies. Please watch for our Call for Volunteers announcements early Spring.
