Recent Activities
Spring Equinox – Friday, 20Mar26 – Main Beach – 5 PM
These events. Equinoxes and Solstices, have seem to have tempted the weather gods into providing challenging weather days. Well, this year’s Spring Equinox  was another frosty windy day on the shores of Niantic Bay. Brave souls turned out to say good-bye to winter and hello spring. As the weather changes, thank these people for coaxing spring back!
Friend’s Banquet – Saturday, 28Mar26 – ClubHouse – 5 PM
The Black Point Mens’ Club sponsored this dinner for our neighbors, the Chief of Police and contractors that help keep Black Point the Jewel of East Lyme Beaches. Our beach manager, Jim Moffett, worked countless hours putting this event together. Thank you to the BP Women’s Club members for providing desserts and Jim and Anita Schepter for providing hors d’oeuvres. Coastal Crust catered the event with several buffet selections. People stayed and enjoyed this get together.

Jean Giannamore Obituary

Jean Frenis Giannamore
Jean (Angela) Frenis Giannamore, 89, of Niantic, beloved wife of the late Ronald Joseph Giannamore, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London, surrounded by her family. Jean was born February 23, 1937, in Waterbury, Connecticut, and was the beloved daughter of the late Stephen and Anna Frenis.
Jean attended Crosby High School and graduated in 1955. She went on to earn her Registered Nursing degree from St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1958. Her career as a registered nurse included time at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, the convalescent home on Main Street in South Windsor, St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, and many years working with pediatrician Dr. Breer in Manchester.
Jean generously gave her time to many volunteer roles, including serving as a Boy Scout leader, Brownie leader, CCD teacher, and lovingly ironing vestments for her church.
Jean met the love of her life on the very street where they were both born. They were childhood playmates who began dating in the seventh grade and were married in 1958. Jean and Ron lived most of their lives in South Windsor before becoming permanent residents of Niantic, Connecticut, fifteen years ago.
Jean’s greatest and most cherished role was raising her five children, which she did with great devotion, skill, and enduring love.
Jean was predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband Ron, and her treasured daughter Karen.
She leaves behind her daughter Mary Beth (Jack)Chinsky along with their daughters Anna Chinsky and Dayna (Ryan)Lemieux and their son Brayden; her daughter Debra A. (Keith)Madden and their children Sam Madden and Angela Madden; her son Joseph S. (Karine)Giannamore and their children Alexander Giannamore and Louis Giannamore; and her son Michael A. (Sabine)Giannamore and their children Lorenzo Giannamore and Lucia Giannamore.
